Henry Lacoste is the architect of the art-deco building in the dunes of Oostende. The building opened in 1950 and was a vacation home for children of the RTT employees. The RTT, the Belgium phone company, left the building in 1998.
The dunes are protected nature, so when the demolition started in 2004 the European comity ordered Belgium to stop the demolition. Since that day the building looks out on the sea, half demolished, half trashed by local youth.
