In 1975 about 6000 people worked on this steal plant. Blast funrnace Forges The Clabecq was the pride of the country and produced steal for more than 100 years.

After financial troubles and strikes organized by the trade union the place was left abandonend in 1996. The heavily poluted ground and water near the site was cleaned in 2008 and the buildings and blast furnaces were demolished in 2009.
